Neutrals, Naturally

Eva Hesse (1936-1970) was a German-born American sculptor who began sculpting using the materials she found at a textile factory where she worked, to create sculptures and installations. She became well known for her use of latex, fiberglass, and plastics.
These remind me of skins, hanging, each one different in size,
each one beautiful in its own special way.

Kenzo Okada (1902-1982) was a Japanese painter who expressed the aura of landscape through his use of earth colors and abstract patterns that hint at familiar scenes in nature.

Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988) was a Japanese American sculptor who explored his identity through his artistic process. It was only in Japan that he created ceramic works. Perhaps working with the
Japanese earth helped him feel more of a
connection to that part of his heritage.

Beige, tan, sand, nude, khaki--call it what you will, these natural, neutral colors thrive through art and fashion with their
subtle yet powerful presence.

Some of my Favorite Summer Neutral Finds

Who would have thought of a khaki moto jacket, zippers and all? Only our beloved Alex Wang, of course. This exciting piece debuted as part of Gap's collaborative project with AW,
 in stores now!
Gap, $88.

This too, is part of Gap's collab collection, but with designer Albertus Swanepoel. Love the gentle wave of this khaki floppy hat. Notice the beautiful folds on top!
Gap, $39.50.

Very circular frames for sunglasses have been rampant everywhere these days...Enjoy this neutral colored yet glitzy version while you sit poolside sipping margaritas this summer.

Taupe is an excellent foundation for floral. Give shape and tone down this all-over pattern  romper with a wide brown belt.
Add on a cropped brown blazer for night!

Extremely comfortable with a great round neck for casual cool days. Though it's long sleeves, the creme color and the cotton fabric lighten this top for the most gorgeous of summer days.
Pair it with the shorts below.

The cuff and the subtle pleats make these khaki shorts a versatile, casual, and very stylish staple for the coming summer months!
Delia's, $29.50

So simple, so clean, just a perfect nude shoe for all seasons...Surely, this will go on sale eventually, patience, patience!
